SSS implements real-time posting of contributions

BANGUED, Abra, Feb. 28 (PIA) -- Social Security System members will no longer  wait for days before their contributions are posted as it is now done on real time.

SSS-Abra Branch Manager Eduard Urua announced the new program on Real-Time Posting of SSS contributions effective this year. Members need not go back to the SSS office to check whether their contributions and loan repayments have been posted to ensure that their remittances have been recorded properly.

Furthermore, processing of claims are also made easier now with the SSS online transactions. These claims maybe retirement claims, disability benefits, death benefits, burial or funeral benefits, maternity leave benefits, sick leave benefits and other such benefits due to the members.

The problem that usually delays the processing and release of claims according to Urua is the failure of the members or claimants to submit the correct and complete documentary requirements.

Urua advised members to secure and to make sure the documents are in order like the names and dates and other pertinent information reflected on the birth certificates, marriage contracts and death certificates are correct and with no erasures to avoid delays in the filing and processing of claims.

Urua likewise campaigned for more membership to the SSS. He explained that the SSS is the most reliable insurance company as it is run and managed by the government. The SSS is also the cheapest in terms of premiums but with the most beneficial as it has a comprehensive package of benefits to its members and the members’ families and or beneficiaries.
