DOLORES, Abra, Oct. 12 (PIA) -- Lack of potable water is a perennial problem of the people in this town but this is now being addressed. Thanks to the programs of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the partnership of the local government unit and the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan (KALAHI) beneficiaries.
Improvement in the water system is noted with the establishments of potable water supply particularly with the installation of artesian wells in the 15 barangays of Dolores under Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) and the SALINTUBIG programs of the DILG.
DILG-CAR Regional Director Marlo Iringan with DILG-Abra Provincial Director Millicent B. Cariño turned over the said water supply projects to the Dolores LGU on 27 September 2017.
The KALAHI members of Poblacion, Dolores are also working out for more potable water supply projects by proposing three more artesian wells in their barangay.
Brgy. Chairman Mariquita Guzman is taking all necessary steps to achieve full participation and involvement of the households for the DILG’s appreciation and approval of their proposed projects. (PIA Abra)
