BANGUED, Abra, Oct. 6 (PIA) -- The Abra Consumer Net (ACN) is strengthening its Consumer Welfare Desk to help address the problem of handling complaints from consumers.
The ACN will forge a memorandum of agreement with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines chaired by Atty. Marco M. Bautista to provide legal assistance to the members of the Consumer Welfare Desk in handling consumer complaints especially the non-implementation of discounts on groceries.
ACN member-agencies will also promote consumerism and consumer protection in a kapihan forum, which serves as the kick-off activity of the month-long observance of the Consumer Welfare Month (CWM).
The network will also conduct an organizational development seminar to the officers of the Federation of Senior Citizens, ACN partner representing the consumers.
Other IEC activities in celebration of CWM include conduct of a quiz bee on October 20 wherein the winner will represent the province of Abra in the regional quiz bee in Baguio City on Oct. 27 and the conduct of a roadshow on Oct. 24.
